Trip Itinerary

Our 14 day trip will see us explore the city of Cairo before flying down to Aswan where we will begin a 4D/3N 5* Nile Cruise. This trip is designed to be a highlights tour, allowing our guests to visit popular locations and get to know Egypt in a group setting. We have a wonderful itinerary planned to ensure a mix of activities that will create wonderful learning opportunities, quality family time, and loads of fun, all while enjoying time with like-minded people who share a love of travel and educating their children through Worldschooling. Below we share with you our proposed itinerary:

Trip Itinerary

Our 14 day trip will see us explore the city of Cairo before flying down to Aswan where we will begin a 4D/3N 5* Nile Cruise. This trip is designed to be a highlights tour, allowing our guests to visit popular locations and get to know Egypt in a group setting. We have a wonderful itinerary planned to ensure a mix of activities that will create wonderful learning opportunities, quality family time, and loads of fun, all while enjoying time with like-minded people who share a love of travel and educating their children through Worldschooling. Below we share with you our proposed itinerary:

DAY 1

Guests will arrive in Cairo, Egypt and be met by a local guide who will transport them to our accommodation. The afternoon will be freetime, allowing Guests to explore Cairo and enjoy time getting to know each other. We will celebrate the beginning of the trip with an evening meal.

Guests are welcome to arrive in Cairo a few days early if they wish.

DAY 2

We begin our trip with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You will have the chance to explore the wonders of the Great Pyramid, get inside one of the Pyramids and then move to the Sphinx, one of the largest monolith statues in the history of mankind.

After enjoying the view and taking photos of the Sahara and the pyramids Guests will take part in a Camel riding experience, before a local lunch.

In the afternoon guests will have a tour of the Egyptian Museum and discover famous treasures, including many belonging to Tutankhamen.

DAY 3

Today we will see some of the most iconic treasures in Egypt with a visit to Saqqara, the Necropolis of the Old Kingdom. It is the home of the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the Museum of Imhotemp and some tombs of the Nobels. Later we will move to Dahshur, home to some of the oldest and best preserved pyramids in Egypt.

We will also visit the oldest capital of Ancient Egypt, Memphis, to see the biggest man-made statue of King Ramses the second and the Alabaster Sphinx. In the afternoon you will have time to explore local markets before returning to your hotel in Cairo

DAY 4

A full day tour will allow our guests to discover old Cairo sights including the Alabaster Mosque and the Citadel of Salah El Din. We will then move to the old churches in Coptic Cairo to visit the churches that were blessed by the Holy family during their flee to Egypt. We’ll visit the hanging church, St. Sergius and more. In the afternoon guests will visit the old Bazaar before returning to our hotel to prepare for our departure to Aswan the following day.

DAY 5

After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel in Cairo and be transferred to the Cairo airport to take a domestic flight to Aswan, where upon arrival we will visit the most famous sight in Aswan, the Temples of Philae. Saved from a watery grave by UNESCO’s rescue project during the building of the Aswan High Dam, the temples were transferred block by block from their original place. Our guests will be able to walk amid the columns of this ancient venerated site before checking in for the start of our 5* Nile cruise.

DAY 6

After breakfast, we will visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This temple is the best-preserved Ptolemaic temple in Egypt. The building of the temple lasted about 800 years and features wonderfully decorated walls and stone capitals. Our next stop will be to visit the amazing Temple Of Kom Ombo dedicated to two Gods; Horus, the falcon god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. We will enjoy time at the crocodile museum before returning back to our cruise for evening entertainment and dinner on board.

DAY 7

Today we visit the Luxor Temple and the Temple of Karnak. Dating from around 1392BC, the Luxor Temple is a strikingly graceful monument in the heart of the modern town of Luxor. The Temple of Karnak is an extraordinary complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons, and obelisks dedicated to the Theban triad but also to the greater glory of pharaohs. Both will provide valuable learning opportunities for children and adults alike.

DAY 8

After breakfast, guests will depart the cruise ship and visit the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon and Hatshepsut temple on the west bank of Luxor. We will have lunch at a traditional restaurant and then check in to our Luxor hotel. Guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the city of Luxor.

DAY 9

Guests will today travel to the city of Hurghada, a beach town stretching some 40km along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Hurghada is renowned for scuba diving, and has numerous dive shops and schools in its modern Sekalla district for guests that may wish to dive during our trip. The afternoon of the day will be free time for our guests to explore the township.

DAY 10

Guests will enjoy a day of free time today – a chance to catch up on some family time, explore Hurghada or take part in one of the optional excursions, like the Giftun Island tour, where guests will spend a beautiful day on the Red Sea visiting the Giftun Island National Park, enjoying a buffet lunch and snorkeling the Red Sea . DAY 11

Today Guests will have the choice between 3 included tours. Option A is a full day Dolphin tour in the Red Sea, where guests will have an opportunity to look for and swim with dolphins in their natural playground. Option 2 is an early morning Desert Safari, on which guests will ride a Quad Bike through the sands of the desert, enjoy a Bedouin Village visit and learn about local life. Option 3 is a Submarine Tour, on the only submarine in the Middle East. Guests will enjoy 2 hours of exploring the Red Sea, from the comfort of their craft – an excursion that is perfect for the whole family! Guests can choose their preferred option when booking.

DAY 12

Guests will enjoy another day of relaxation today – free time to laze by the pool or enjoy another optional excursion. Feeling adventurous? Join us for a 3 hour morning Desert Safari on Quad Bikes. The day begins with a driving lesson before guests will venture out into the desert sands where they’ll enjoy a rush of adrenaline as they drive their quad bikes through the shifting desert sands. Drivers must be 12+ years, however, younger children can join the journey as a passenger. For full details on all excursions please click here.

DAY 13

Today we say goodbye to the Red Sea and take a domestic flight back to the city of Cairo. Guests will have time to explore the city one last time before enjoying a farewell dinner in the evening. At this dinner, guests will have the opportunity to look back over their journey and share their favorite parts. They’ll be able to take time to say goodbye to new friends and make plans for their next catch up, somewhere in our big wide world!

DAY 14

They say all good things must come to an end, and sadly on Day 14, this will be true of our Egypt Adventure. Guests will enjoy their breakfast before checking out of the hotel and making their way to the Cairo airport, or onto their next destination.
